THEATER

TWO FOR JOY: GLIMPSE

The Making of

Two For Joy: Glimpse

This short film was made after singer/songwriter, Ryan Ennis, watched the short film Lucky Three on Elliott Smith. And with the sudden surge of AI use in music today Ryan wanted to simple show a man and his guitar playing a few tunes.

Over the course of a few days, two days of recording and a day of editing, and with the help from his wife, Ciara Power, they made the short film Glimpse and uploaded online for all to see.

''Post-Burnout is a culture website dedicated to venerating burnt-out artists the world over. Comprised mainly of cultural articles, the majority of our content is contingent upon interviews with artists. This series is the auditory version of some of these interviews, which can either be full-length versions of our written articles or exclusive episodes. In this edition of POSTBURNOUT.COM Interviews…, we talk with the Mayo-based multidisciplinary artist and musician Ryan Ennis of Two For Joy. Ryan discusses releasing a new album each month for the year 2024, his albums “Rain” and “Solas Fair,” his move from Dublin to Mayo and how it differs, what inspires him, the importance of independence in creating art, writing reflective art without nostalgia, the power of nighttime as a child, creating during the lockdown, his plans for a fantasy album, and more.''

''In this edition of POSTBURNOUT.COM Interviews…, the Tallaght-born, Mayo-based folk musician Ryan Ennis of Two For Joy talks to us about the band’s latest record “One for Sorrow,” recording the album at the world-famous Windmill Lane Studios in eight hours, getting more personal than before, his time working at a music shop, how the Irish school system doesn’t reward creatives, and more.''
